Accomplishing this ambitious filmmaking endeavor has taken and will continue to take a tremendous amount of time and money. Even short documentary films shot with digital cameras like this one cost tens of thousands of dollars. We must pay for equipment rentals, insurance, transportation, meals—the list of expenses incurred seems almost endless. However, the goal for such a project goes beyond education and social awareness. We strongly feel that your donation will eventually make its way back to the people of these small communities throughout Costa Rica as a result of this film being made. Through festival screenings worldwide and close work with both local and government organizations, we hope this film illustrates both the need and complexity of a place like Ostional. It is so much more than just supporting education and the arts.

I have worked hard to save as much money as I can to spend on this project but my entire savings will not even come close to covering the cost of the project and I am currently funding it using student loans. I need your help. Ostional needs your help. The turtles need your help. As a result of your donation, your name will go on the credits and you will receive a copy of the film upon completion. There are three ways in which you can help:

An In-Kind Donation. These donations usually consist of services and goods, or anything else of non-monetary worth. Anything from equipment to food will be of much help to us. There are many smaller organizations I have worked with in Costa Rica that we will be assisting along the way as well and there is great opportunity for these people to benefit from the goods we bring them. A Tax-Deductible Donation. Since we are making this film as a thesis for the school, USC serves as the non-profit organization with the funds allocated directly to the Between the Harvest project. Please make checks payable to University of Southern California and mail in care of Scott Drucker to the address below or use Pay Pal for a credit card payment. Direct Donation. The filmmaker and producer have set up an account strictly for this film. You can write a check directly to the filmmaker and mail to the address below. Note: this is not tax deductible.

Please note that 75% of all donations will subsidize the production costs and 25% will be distributed to the following organizations in Costa Rica: Community Organization in Ostional, Sea Turtle Researchers in Ostional, and MUSADE Woman's Shelter in Alajuela.
